About Us

Our Calling

We are called by God to be stewards of the Hope Renewed Christian Mental Health ministry which exists to “…equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ.”  Our goal is to encourage and empower those living with mental illness personally, with family members or with friends; “practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head.”

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”         1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV.

“It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God—a mature person, attaining to the measure of Christ’s full stature. So we are no longer to be children, tossed back and forth by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching by the trickery of people who craftily carry out their deceitful schemes. But practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head. From him the whole body grows, fitted and held together through every supporting ligament. As each one does its part, the body grows in love.” ~ Ephesians 4:11-16

We believe that because of the integration of body, mind and Spirit, a Christian must have spiritual health to fully experience a healthy mental life.  And a Christian must have mental health to fully experience a healthy Christian life.

The goal of this organization to be a part of the healing ministry of Christ. We will provide many links to secular resources that will be very helpful to you, but our focus will be working together with you toward Godliness with contentment.

About Dorie

About Dorie . . .
Dorothy (Dorie) Nilles is a retired registered psychiatric nurse who resides in Lombard Illinois. She has two grown sons; both gifted and talented, and four beautiful grand children.
Dorie has been called be steward of the Hope Renewed Christian Mental Health ministry that is designed to help anyone who is struggling with mental, spiritual and emotional issues.
Dorie was born at The Willows Maternity Sanitarium in Kansas City, Missouri. This was a home for unwed pregnant women in a day when such situations were not even discussed in polite society. She was adopted into a Dutch Christian family when she was just a few weeks old. Although her adoptive parents raised her in the Christian Reformed church and sent her to an excellent Christian school, theirs was a very dysfunctional family with many abuses, mental and emotional difficulties.
Through these challenges, Dorie learned that her God Jehovah, the God of the Bible, is a  loving and  sovereign Father. God placed her in an environment in which she grew strong, with support and love from Godly extended family members mentoring and encouraging her.  God has used joy and sorrow, opportunity and hardship to mold  her into a loving, creative and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, friend, nurse, entrepreneur, leader. This early education laid the foundation for her to be able to help others who have traveled this same path of childhood abuse and betrayal. If there is anything worse than murder … it is betrayal. When you kill someone you basically put them out of their misery , but when you betray them you leave a wound that continues to fester and hurt and possibly never heal. Only God can heal this type of wound. To this, Dorie has dedicated her life to helping broken people in this broken world.
The above is but a brief glimpse into the life and work of this talented, nurturing and gifted woman of God.
